Yu-ichi Inoue Small works
We are pleased to announce the new exhibition at our main gallery, Yu-ichi Inoue Small Works. Around 10 pieces of his small works are on view. Since today, mostly his large format single-character works are featured in most of the show in the world. On the other hand, he has created variety small works, for instance, charcoal writing , lovely poem, drawing with waka poem etc. He put himself in the strong rule of using classic material like paper and Sumi ink, and also using character, while many other avan-gard calligrapher abandoned the use of character and classic material. He pursued the possibility within the rule. We believe that to understand Yu-ichi, only focusing on the strong black splashy single character works are not enough. His world is much deeper and wider. We hope this show will be the opportunity to open another door of understanding Yu-ichi Inoue.

かみ屋本館ギャラリーでは、井上有一小品展を開催いたします。
井上有一は、一文字の大字書ばかりが大きく取り上げられていますが、様々な小品を制作しています。一字大字書に負けない力強い一字書から、優しい詩を書いた多文字書、銀地に加工された紙に絵と共に和歌を書た可愛らしい書、など一般的なイメージとは違った井上有一の世界があります。井上有一は、古典的な紙と墨そして文字を用いるという制約の中で、いろいろな取り組みをしてきました。黒く激しい井上有一だけでは、その全体像を掴むことはできない様に思います。小品の中で、井上有一が表現した世界を是非ご覧ください。

We are pleased to announce our new show at Kami Ya Annex Gallery, “Drawing and Ceramics” . In this show, some drawing and calligraphy on shikishi size paper by Shiro Tsujimura, Junsaku Koizumi and more are on view. The drawings by Shiro Tsujimura was done almost 30+ years ago, and his ceramics are also on view. Junsaku Koizumi wrote our company logo, and his calligraphy and drawing are also displayed.
