10月20日　梨狩り

西洋梨、中国梨、和梨、の大きく３つに分類されるそうです。日本では、江戸時代に和梨の栽培技術が発達し、現在の千葉県のあたりでは盛んに梨の栽培が行われていたそうです。市川市の梨園に行ってきました。
ちなみに、“梨のつぶて”とは、音沙汰や返信がないことを言いますが、“つぶて”は投げて戻ってこない小石のこと、“梨”はもともと“無し”を意味する、ただの当て字とのこと。
なんのことやら。

Western pears, Chinese pears and Japanese pears are classified into three major categories. In Japan, the cultivation technique of Japanese pears was developed in the Edo period, and pears were actively grown in the area around present-day Chiba Prefecture. We went to a pear garden in Ichikawa City. By the way, the word “Nahi-no-tsubute" means that there is no sound and no reply, and “tsubute" means a pebble that is thrown and never comes back, and “nashi (pears)" means originally "none". I don't know what that means.

10月16日　稲刈り

遠くに旅することがなかなかできないこの頃、少し新鮮な空気を吸いたくなって、家のベランダから遥か遠くに見える筑波山に導かれ、茨城方面へ。稲刈りはもう終わってしまった所と、部分的に残っている所があって、見渡すと綺麗なパッチワークのようでした。
刈り取った稲の茎は“わら”として、屋根や土壁の材料、畳、神社のしめ飾り、わらじ、燃料や肥料などなど、昔は余すことなく使われていたそうです。米の国日本。
僕の家も藁葺きにしてもらおうかな。おいしい空気をたくさん吸い込んできました。

These days it's hard to travel far from home, but I wanted to get a little fresh air, so I was led from the balcony of my house to Mount Tsukuba in the distance, and headed towards Ibaraki. There were places where the rice had already been harvested, and other places where it was still in parts, and it looked like a beautiful patchwork when we looked around. The harvested rice stalks were used as "straw" for roofs and earthen walls, tatami mats, decorations for shrines, fuel and fertilizer, etc. in olden days. Japan is a country of rice. Maybe I should have my house thatched with straw. I have breathed in a lot of delicious air.

9月30日　お月見

お月さんがキレイな季節。花より団子、月より団子〜。団子より骨〜。「月も雲間のなきは嫌にて候へ」かみこが最近知った様でぶつぶつ唱えています。「月も団子のなきは嫌にて候へ」ですけどね〜さて今年のお月さんはどんなかな？

The season when the moon is beautiful. Cakes rather than flowers, and cakes rather than the moon. More bones than cakes. Kamiko is chanting this phrase as if she's learned it recently. ”It's not enough that there's no cloud cover on the moon." For me, "It's not enough that there's no cakes with the moon.," what will this year's moon-viewing be like?

月亮美丽的季节。粽子不如花，蛋糕不如月。骨头比饺子多。神子像是最近才学会的一样，在念叨着这句话。"月亮上没有云层是不够的。" 对于我来说，"月上无饼还不够。"，今年的赏月会是什么样子呢？
